ANDY ASTON, Restaurant Associates development and implementation chef, is the winner of the Contract Catering category of the 2008 MenuMasters competition, sponsored by Merrychef.
MenuMasters is a unique food service accolade which sets out to find the most talented food and menu developers across all sectors.
Andy’s menu most impressed the judges and saw him join nine fellow winners on a five day tour to Chicago, taking in the latest innovations at the National Restaurant Association Show, one of the world’s largest hospitality exhibitions, and a number of behind the scenes visits to the windy city’s top dining venues.
Merrychef’s business development manager, Mark Middleton, joined the trip and said: “As well as being a great opportunity to visit the NRA show and have a hands on visit to some of America’s top restaurants, the MenuMasters trip provides winners with fantastic networking opportunities with other talented chefs and food service professionals.”
